1English is an Irish-based language and Integration programme delivered in partnership with The Digital Hub. The objective is to help refugees attain a proficient level of English in order to help them integrate and find better jobs. Currently the language programs for such migrants are limited in that they provide a very basic introductory to English. Meanwhile, by providing them with full language training, they are able to lead better lives in Ireland. When they do better Ireland does better. All costs of the program are paid by The One Foundation.
Our learners are asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants who are living in Dublin or the greater Dublin area. In order to be selected, learners are expected to maintain a conversation at the B1 level (Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)) of English. So far 40 people have been served in the program in Ireland and 350 people have applied to date.
